It was not long after coming to Yateley Manor that we had a mutual family play date. It was a family-to-family friendship that lasted our, amazing, Yateley Manor years. My many memories of Luca are thus entwined with the entire, lovely, and wonderfully funny and sarcastic Cella Walker family. I loved bantering with Luca, and he always returned my fist bumps! I recall two Cella Walker/Anderson family events. The first, is that after much banter about who would be faster, I caught up to Luca at the halfway mark of Parkrun. “I’m catching you,” I called out. Luca just looked back at me, smiled, then left me in the preverbal dust. That kid could run! I then finished the race to a chorus of ‘old man’ Cella Walker chants. I’m surprised you didn’t have a banner made. The second was a play date in your backyard. Luca kicked a football and it hit Garet in the head before bouncing off a pole and striking Garet in the head, yet again! Yep, me the anti-concussion guy, it’s his kid’s head Luca performed this accidental trick shot on.
Claire, you and I shared oh so many laughs together, I am saddened that I cannot be there to now share a hug, as we have moved back to California. We, the Anderson family collective, send love and sorrow.
